Siesta Key Beach is the crown jewel of the area — 99% pure quartz sand so fine and white it stays cool underfoot even at midday, which is why it regularly lands on "best beaches in America" lists. A $20 million renovation in 2016 added a new playground, two concession stands, a half-mile esplanade, and restored the historic Sarasota School of Architecture pavilion. With 900+ free parking spaces it's easier to get into than you'd expect for a beach this popular, but arrive early on weekends.
